Of Chocolates and Beauty

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
Assalaamu'alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakaatuh

There are a variety of chocolates out there. The most basic ones are milk chocolates, dark chocolates, and white chocolates. Each has its own taste. Depending on one's' sweet tooth, some may prefer one over the others.

Imagine if chocolates were 'alive'. Dark chocolate might look at milk chocolate and say:

"Children love milk chocolate. But they don’t like me. They say I'm bitter. Perhaps I should be sweeter so that children would like me as well."

What Mr. Dark chocolate forgets is that there are others out there (myself included.hee) who love the semi-sweet, bittersweet, luscious taste of dark chocolate. Now that it has changed its taste, it's no longer adored by dark chocolate lovers.

It changed itself thinking that becoming milk chocolate would be better, and forgetting that it has unique qualities of its own that others appreciate, love, and adore.

Different people have different features. Some may look similar- and in cases of identical twins, may look the same. Yet there are things about them that makes them, them. We may see another person and think,

"Wow, she's so pretty…"
"MashaAllah, she is so adorable…"
"Look at his beard…" (I only assume brothers might think this. Heh)

They are their version of themselves. And you are your own version. Despite perceiving them as being the "ideal" or "prettiest" person, do not forget that you are beautiful as well.

So you may not have hair like theirs, teeth like theirs, nose like theirs, or skin like theirs. That's  fine.  Because you are you own version of beauty. You are beautiful like you.

Remember, beauty is subjective. It lies in the eyes of the beholder. You may not be someone's milk chocolate, but you may definitely be someone else's dark chocolate.

Beauty does not merely encompass the outer, physical beauty- but includes the inner, spiritual beauty as well. Flourish you inner beauty with goodness and positivity. Enhance your inner self with iman. When you have iman, you will be beautiful- not just to people, but to Allah as well, inshaAllah.

So melt those envious and wishful thoughts away, and fill your cup of thoughts with content and love. You are you. All you have to do is to be the best version of you.

If you ever have doubt about yourself, remember, you have been created in the best possible stature (surah at-Tin, 95:4) by The Creator. Allah gave us abilities, capacities, and potentialities to strive for the best; to be the best possible version of ourselves.

When Allah is with you, nothing can go against you. And He is always there.
