Train Ride

Assalaamu'alaikum wr wb.

I'm not sure if I've shared this before, but I'm going to write it down anyway. It's an article I wrote for Al-Aqsa Friends Society in IIUM a few years ago. May we gain benefit from it, inshaAllah. :)

Everything Allah does, give, and take is for a reason. Our success, failure, and all the tests we face, the challenges we meet, the obstacles we endure- all these happen for a reason. And we, as believers, must be patient and endure it, bearing in mind that it will do nothing but good for us. Because it is His promise that after hardship, there will surely be relief.

"So, verily, with every difficulty, there is relief. Verily, with every difficulty there is relief." (Quran, 94:5-6)

Yes, it is hard because we are merely His servants. Servants who are weak by nature. This is why Allah will never test us with something that we are impalpable of. He created us and He knows our limitations. So if we are facing a burden that we think we can't handle- think again.

"On no soul doth Allah place a burden greater than it can bear.." (Quran, 2:286)

'But it's so hard! I can't take it anymore!' These words may come out of our mouths. At times, there are certain obstacles that are a tad more stressful than others. Yes, at times, it may seem like giving up is the best option. But is it?

"Do people think they will be left alone after saying 'we believe' without being put to the test? We had tested those who went before them, so that Allah would distinguish those who are truthful and those who are liars." (Quran, 29:3)

Do we want to give up now and fail in the Eyes of Allah? Give up now merely to enjoy a good life on this temporary world?

Here's an analogy of the troubles we face in life: a train ride.

I am sure that most, if not all of us, have been on a train that is packed to its maximum capacity. We have to squeeze just to get inside, endure the heat, stench (usually after working hours), and discomfort throughout the journey. Even before boarding, we know that we will face this discomfort. And yet, we still board the train nonetheless.

Why?

Because we know that the discomfort will only be temporary. Soon afterwards, we will be home... Home sweet home~

Similarly, the problems we face in life are tough. Some would truly test our faith and patience. But remember, they are merely temporary. They will pass. Just endure the "train ride" of life, because afterwards we will reach our destination, inshaAllah.

May this short article serve as a reminder firstly to me, a lowly slave of Allah, and to everyone else. May Allah guide us and be with us throughout the entire journey of our train ride, inshaAllah.

Allahua' laam.
Assalaamu'alaikum.

Tak Nak Kawin

Assalaamu'alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakaatuh

Tiba-tiba teringat satu perbualan/diskusi bersama seorang sahabat satu masa dulu...

"Saya tak nak kawin"
"Eh, kenapa pula?"

"Saya nak jadi macam Rabiatul Adawiyah."
"Rabiatul Adawiyah tu wali Allah. Lain. Kita lain."

Maknanya...?
Haa... Fikir-fikirkan sendiri ye. Jangan malas berfikir. :)

Renungan malam Ramadhan sikit. ^^
Harap betulkan mana yang tersilap, inshaAllah.

Allahua'laam.
Assalaamu'alaikum.
